Introduction

What developers can build on Pink Editor, and where each piece lives.

Pink Editor plans and writes a whole website from inside your AI chat. You connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any other MCP client to Pink, and the model works on your content plan through Pink's tools: it researches keywords, shapes topics and pages, writes the articles, and publishes them to your site.

There are two developer surfaces, split by which way the calls go:

SurfaceWho calls whomUse it to
MCP serverYour AI client calls PinkPlan, research, write and publish from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, or your own MCP client
Publish ProtocolPink calls your siteReceive finished articles and Q&A pages on a site you host yourself

That is the whole public surface. There is no separate REST API, SDK, sandbox or webhook system for third parties: anything you can do in Pink from code, you do through the MCP tools, and the only callbacks are the Publish Protocol's pushes to your site (and its one notify call back to Pink).

How the pieces fit

  1. Your AI client connects to the MCP server and picks a site (list_sites, then select_site).
  2. The model reads and edits the content plan with the tools: topics, pages, keywords, questions, internal links.
  3. Writing and publishing articles through your AI is free; the writing runs on your own AI subscription. Research and data pulls, such as web research or keyword and SERP data, are billed in credits.
  4. add_article publishes a page: the model writes the prose, Pink structures it into blocks and sends it to your site, either Pink-hosted or your own receiver via the Publish Protocol.

Getting started

  1. Create an account at app.edit.pink. New accounts start with 1,000 credits.
  2. Connect your AI client: see the Quickstart.
  3. Self-hosting your site? Implement the receiver endpoints in the Publish Protocol and point Pink at them.
